Terms of Service

Last updated: August 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of BTC Pact. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

What BTC Pact is

BTC Pact documents agreements between people about bitcoin. It produces tamper-evident records: signed documents, proposals, votes, and timestamps that let every participant verify what was agreed and when. Acting on an agreement, including moving any bitcoin, is done by the participants themselves, outside the service.

No custody

BTC Pact never holds, controls, or transfers bitcoin, and never has access to anyone's keys or wallets. The service proves the agreement, not the coins. Nothing in the service can move funds, and no feature will ever ask you for a private key or seed phrase.

Private beta

The service is in a private beta. Features may change or be interrupted, and availability is not guaranteed. We aim to give notice of disruptive changes but cannot promise it during this phase.

No financial or legal advice

AI commentary, risk readings, price data, and any other analysis shown in the service are informational only. They are not financial, investment, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own decisions and for verifying anything you rely on.

Your account

Provide accurate information and keep your credentials, authenticator device, and recovery codes safe. There is deliberately no support mechanism to bypass two-factor authentication: if you lose both your authenticator and your recovery codes, you may permanently lose access to your account.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. You grant the service the rights needed to store it, process it, show it to the participants of your Pact, and run the features you invoke on it, including AI features when you use them. You are responsible for what you submit.

Acceptable use

Use the service only for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to access other people's data, interfere with the service, probe or evade its security and rate limits, or use it to harass or defraud anyone.

Permanent records

Timestamping is permanent by design: hashes committed to the Bitcoin blockchain cannot be deleted. Share links are bearer links; sharing one is your decision, and you can revoke it from the log page when it should stop working.

Ending the relationship

You can delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. In both cases, shared Pact evidence is handled as described in the privacy policy.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and our liability for damages arising from its use is limited to the maximum extent that law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the service, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
